Divisions of Play
Majors - Ages 9yo-12yo - Try-out and draft base placement on teams. Depending on age, players are eligible for a draft process after a try-out evaluation. Players not selected will then be part of our AAA program.
Description of Majors - Most competitive league in our program. Usually players with multiple years of experience seeing live pitching. This is a live player pitch division. Playing time can be more limited and not always distributed equally. There is less position flexibility and players will often play more dedicated roles and not play every position on the field during the year.
AAA - Ages 8yo-11yo (some rare exceptions for 12yo with limited experience can be made) - Try-out and draft base placement on teams. Depending on age, players are eligible for a draft process after a try-out evaluation. Players not selected will then be part of our AA program.
Description of AAA - A competitive league with a large emphasis on player development, with players typically having multiple years of prior experience. This is a first year player pitch league, where all pitching is live. Playing time is distributed more equally with more position flexibility to allow players to play multiple roles.
AA - Ages 7yo-9yo (some exceptions for 10yo with limited experience can be made.) - No Try-outs, teams made by board of directors.
Description of AA - Pitching machine league for players ready to graduate from coach pitch. Will see pitches from full distance from a machine. Limited experience is ok as this is a foundational league for fundamentals. Players will see equal playing time and opportunities to play all over the field. These will be real baseball/softball games, with emphasis on fundamental understanding of the game while in a true game atmosphere.
Note: if decided by board of directors league could start as coach pitch with progression to half the season using a pitching machine. Depends on skill level across the league.
Coach Pitch - 5yo-6yo (exceptions for 7yo with limited experience can be made.) - No Try-outs, teams made by board of directors.
Description of Coach Pitch - Introduction to baseball/softball and all the fundamentals. Live coach pitch in a controlled environment to get everyone excited about the game. The focus is on learning the game and having fun to get all kids excited for the years to come. Depending on enrollment this may be a co-ed league, where introduction to baseball will be worked on for development.
